About the Speaker
Prof. Rosa Cordillera A. Castillo is a public anthropologist and curator working on social justice issues. Through interdisciplinary research, teaching, and multimedia knowledge transfer and praxis, her work spans memory, imagination, media, politics, affect, solidarity, ethics, and decoloniality.
She has published extensively on these themes and is co-editor of Thinking with the South: Reframing Research Collaboration Amid Decolonial Imperatives and Challenges (2023). She is currently a substitute professor of public anthropology in the Department of Anthropology and Cultural Research at the University of Bremen.
Prior to this position, she taught at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin’s Institute of Asian and African Studies, Freie Universität Berlin’s Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology, the Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies, the University of the Philippines’ Department of Anthropology, and the Department of Behavioural Sciences.
